The marble gang-saw FEM 40/50 Series guarantees high flexibility as it allows cutting of various types of blocks, from shapeless to large. It is a machine designed to install up to 50 blades for cutting 2 cm thick slabs and 40 blades for cutting 3 cm thick slabs.

Gang-Saw
The structure
FEM gang-saw consists of a particular portal structure positioned on four basins inside which is the sliding system that allows the movement of the entire portal.
The sliding system
It is a structure fixed on trolleys built on an isostatic system, with 4 wheels per trolley, to obtain a balanced distribution of the load of the blade-holding frame: each wheel supports exactly 1/4 of the load. The sliding are formed by bronze sliding blocks with hydrodynamic support that run on hardened steel guides in an oil bath. An extremely simple and effective system, with very low friction resistance, which does not require complex dynamic or hydraulic mechanisms and which needs very little maintenance.
The electric board, “Industry 4.0” ready
The electrical/electronic system has been designed and built by adopting a FIELD BUS system, with consequent simplification of the wiring, guaranteeing a reduction in the possibility of failures and, in case, a more rapid and punctual search for them. The electrical panel is designed according to the guidelines dictated by the canons of
“Industry 4.0”.Connecting rod and its attachment to the blade-holding frame
The connecting rod is made of a single fusion, with a “I” section structure, in a special high-resistance alloy and particularly designed to endure fatigue phenomena. The connecting rod is attached to the blade-holding frame through a rigid and, at the same time, light steel structure, connected to the two side rails by means of pins and bolts with high resistance, fixed in slots processed with numerical control machines to guarantee the most absolute precision and avoid welding in critical points that can, over time, lead to fatigue failures.
